If you’re jetting off to the West part of Misamis Oriental, drop by this quaint, modern, and cozy hotel at Lohas Hill which happens to bear the same name. Lohas Airport Hotel is the first of its kind at Sinai, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental, located along the National Highway and only about 200 meters from the Airport Access Road Junction.
Lohas is only 5 minutes away from the airport so weary travelers can take a quick break whether they’re headed off to the city of Cagayan De Oro or Iligan. The hotel’s location makes it perfect for travelers needing rest post or pre flight.
All the other hotels are at least a half an hour drive away into the city, making Lohas the most convenient business hotel nearest to Laguindingan Airport. Actually, Lohas is your best and only bet if you need to be at close proximity to the airport!
The lobby is at the second floor with luggage assistance readily available. There is 24-hour security on the premises to ensure all the guests’ safety. The hotel has reasonable rates with clean and comfortable accommodations. They have 16 modest sized rooms with free wifi connectivity. The concept of each room is modern and natural, relying on simple furniture and wall paper. The color scheme draws on earth tones with hues of olive green and brown.
Lohas is managed by Koreans so it is not surprising that their Coco Mango restaurant is chock full of Korean dishes. We eat here pretty frequently and our favorites are: Kimchi Rameon (ramen), Odeng Jigae (fish cake soup), Kimchi fried rice, Dongkaseu (breaded fried pork), Japchae (rice noodles), and Samgeopsal (pork barbeque wrapped in lettuce).
They also serve typical Filipino fare like pork barbeque on stick, calamares, sweet and sour fish, bangus, lomi, pansit canton, and many more. They open early, serving breakfast at 6 am, with Filipino, American, Continental, and a Korean breakfast option. Guests that don’t feel like eating indoors can choose to enjoy the view at their alfresco dining area.
The Lohas Airport Hotel is just a small portion of an even bigger construction project. The Lohas Hill Homes and Business Park, both currently under development, are both located behind the hotel. Just head straight pass the guarded gates and then past the “I heart LOHAS” standee to see for yourselves. At the end of September, they aim to open their clubhouse.
Currently, there are three other establishments renting space from LOHAS: the PSY Korean grocery, the AP Cargo, and the K-style fashion boutique. The PSY Korean grocery sells the famous Buldak ramen, and it is actually one of their best sellers. Buldak is a delicious but insanely spicy noodle dish that is popular in social media. There’s even a spicy ramen challenge that has gone viral on Facebook.
Aside from these stores, LOHAS has a huge swimming pool complex at the back of the hotel filled with lounge chairs, umbrella shade, and tables. The tables have a coconut and mango theme, similar to the furniture at the alfresco area of Coco Mango, clearly inspired by the name of their restaurant. Guests who have checked-in can use the facilities for free. Day visitors are welcome to take a dip for around 200 pesos.
Typically, guests order food and healthy shakes (such as mango, avocado, watermelon, or cucumber) from Coco Mango and have it delivered in the poolside. There’s a kiddie pool and an adult pool, so both generations can enjoy a quick frolic in the well-maintained, crystal blue waters.
Noteworthy, they have a very deep pool with the depth of 3 meters (about 10 feet), perfect for those learning to Scuba dive. As it turns out, one of the activities Lohas offers is Scuba Diving. Guests don’t have to go far to see magnificent tourists spots because Lohas Airport Hotel offers aqua sports activities. They have their own facilities and equipment at Lohas Auqa Beach Resort, which is accessible via van (they have a service) in a nearby property.
They offer the following beach activities: jet skiing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, riding the banana or peanut boat, sailing a yacht, or the floating cottage boat. They have a few aqua sports package guests can choose from. Rates are available at the reception and guests can also call in for inquiries.
Their van service is also available at reasonable rates if guests want to see nearby tourists spots like the Divine Mercy Shrine at El Salvador or the Lasang Secret Adventure Park in Initao. They also offer a shuttle service to and from the airport.
Furthermore, Lohas also has a Function Hall that can comfortably accommodate up to 80 guests. They cater to private meetings, seminars, baptismal services, trainings, and the like. Inclusions are the following: sound system, wireless microphone, projector, and white board. The Function Hall is free for a minimum of 20 persons. The price of the food will depend on the client’s choice from an affordable menu.
